Information on A380 arrival at Washington Dulles

Updated 03/27/2007 11:45 AM
Recap

Although arrival was very late in the evening a lot of people were present at the Daily 2 garage.

A lot of people showed up Monday morning as well and here's a quick collection of photos from that day

Thanks to all for showing up and thanks to MWAA and MWAA Police for being patient and supportive of the large groups of people at the airport

Schedule

As far as we know, this is the current schedule information about the A380 arriving at Washington Dulles:

Aircraft Location

As the schedule shows, the aircraft will be parked at the H-15 hard stand after deplaning passengers. However, it is expected that afterwards will be repositioned to the F Ramp. It is confirmed though that departure boarding will occur from gates B41/B43

Flight Activity

Unfortunately there is no information on runways the aircraft will use either and with the Dulles runway configuration will be difficult to figure it out. The best guess, judging from similar operations and the aircraft parking locations, the flight activity is more likely to occur on 1L/19R or 30.

General Arrangement

As you can imagine, there will be a lot of people at Washington Dulles to observe the aircraft. With potentially large crowds, it is likely that Law Enforcement activity will be heightened, so please, make sure obey street, parking and direction signage and overall rules. Please be co-operative with Law Enforcement as they have a job to do and please do not repetitively bother MWAA folks for more information - one of the group members will give you the latest information available if you are at the airport.
